Kloe's Unicorn
Today Kloe shared her drawing of a Unicorn. What was significant with this fabulous piece of art was that Kloe had chosen to frame it with pieces of red paper. What a fabulous effect! Kei te pai Kloe. This has added another dimension to your work. Your Mum tells me that she has been delighted in seeing your art develop of late.

An experience with ephemeral art
Ephemeral art is an artistic piece that is temporary and disappears over time using materials that are on hand. The art lives on only in the photograph. On this day the children used sticks that had blown down in the wind as the basis for their creation ... and then they gathered stones from the garden to add the finishing touches.

The wonder of children's art
We are often asked why we don't provide outlines for children to colour in. We see our children as capable competent learners who are building their own concepts and theories as they connect their knowledge. These three pieces of art show how brilliant our children can capture their own ideas without the confines of our lines.
Pattern and texture
This week Elaine has continued her exploration of pattern and texture with the children and offered the children a range of options for their exploration.
Thomas extends his knowledge of texture
Fot the past few weeks Elaine has been exploring pattern and texture with the children. Thomas, always the astute student combined his knowledge of pattern and texture as he constructed this giraffe.

The provocation
Simon is always observant. As soon as we displayed the documentation panels of Madison's Eiffel Tower project he wanted to know what they were all about ... and then, without a word he popped off and made his very own Eiffel Tower. How very Simon.

Mia's Screen Printing
We were intrigued to discover this screen printing on our drying rack. Initially we delighted in how vibrantly the colours had mixed together. Upon closer inspection we discovered that Mia had screen printed her name. "I just drawed my name and cut it out," she explained. So many skills have come together to make tghis work of art - thinking, planning, drawing, cutting and screen printing processes. Kei to pai.
