Kloe's Unicorn

Today Kloe shared her drawing of a Unicorn.  What was significant with this fabulous piece of art was that Kloe had chosen to frame it with pieces of red paper.  What a fabulous effect!  Kei te pai Kloe.  This has added another dimension to your work.  Your Mum tells me that she has been delighted in seeing your art develop of late.

An experience with ephemeral art

Ephemeral art is an artistic piece that is temporary and disappears over time using materials that are on hand.  The art lives on only in the photograph. On this day the children used sticks that had blown down in the wind as the basis for their creation ... and then they gathered stones from the garden to add the finishing touches.

We see our children as capable competent learners who are building their own concepts and theories as they connect their knowledge.
